The District 57 Constable race will be the only Jefferson County Democratic runoff, in the election set for July 15. Georgia Gray Hampton received 48.79 percent of the vote; she will be in a runoff with Walter "Big Walt" Wilson, who obtained 26.93 percent. The vote was certified last week.

Democrats who live in District 57 can go to the polls on July 15 to cast their votes in the runoff election.

The primary election for state and local candidates is Tuesday, June 3. Here in Jefferson County we have several races on the ballot, including local and state judgeships. We will choose our nominees to go up against the Republicans in November. It looks like a great year for Democrats, so our nominees have a good shot at election.
